Challenge Elite Sports was founded by David Mai, an engineer with a lifelong passion for sports. Growing up in South Vietnam, Mai discovered his love for athletics at an early age, which stayed with him after immigrating to the U.S. as a child. Alongside his wife, Phuong Henry, and their four children, Mai envisioned a facility that combines sports, family, and community. Built from the ground up, the complex reflects Mai’s dedication to creating a space where youth and adults alike can play, learn, and bond. Inspired by his experiences and challenges, Challenge Elite Sports is a testament to his determination to provide a unique recreation hub for the greater Southeast Houston area.
